Description
Enosis takes its name from the Chios Gum Mastic Growers Association itself — 'Enosis' meaning 'union' — and is the stronger of the cooperative's two mastiha liqueurs at 30% ABV. Clear and crystalline, it carries herbaceous, woody and mineral notes from Chios mastic, tied together with a refined sweetness; serve well chilled, neat or as part of a cocktail.

Enosis and Kentos are the two liqueurs of the Chios Gum Mastic Growers Association, the cooperative of the Mastichochoria — the medieval mastic-growing villages of southern Chios — which holds exclusive rights to Chios mastiha, the only mastic in the world with EU protected designation of origin. The resin is hand-harvested each summer by carving small wounds into the trunks of mastic trees and collecting the resin, or 'tears', once they harden, a process locals call kentos. Both liqueurs are flavoured only with distillate or oil from this Chios mastic: Kentos, named after the harvesting technique itself, is bottled at 20% alcohol, while Enosis — meaning 'union', after the growers' association — is the stronger of the two at 30%.
