Description
Markogianni Lykaeon is a ruby red colour wine. Nose has aromas of red fruits, herbal notes, spices such as black pepper, cinnamon, dried carnation with distinctive aromas of wood and vanilla. In the mouth, it has a medium body, round with surprisingly soft tannins but with acidity that provides complexity. Complex and powerful aftertaste. Αged in French oak barrels for 18 months and bottled unfiltered.

Mandilaria
Mandilaria is one of Greece's most widely planted red grapes, grown across the Aegean islands, Crete and into Central Greece — where in Evia it is known locally as Mavrokoundoura. It produces deeply coloured wines with firm tannins but only moderate body and alcohol, which is why it is most often blended with softer or more aromatic partners such as Kotsifali or Mavrotragano rather than bottled alone. Properly ripened, it gives aromas of dark cherry and black fruit alongside a distinctive leathery, earthy character.

Markogianni Winery is a family business that has been active since 1982. Its main philosophy is respect for nature and the production of quality wines. In order to do so, the company's vineyards are cultivated organically and are certified by the DIO organization since 2001. In addition to their privately owned vineyards, the Markogianni Winery supplies grapes from selected vineyards in the greater area of Skillountia.
