Mavrotragano & Mandilaria & Athiri
Mavrotragano is a rare red grape associated with Santorini. Revived from small surviving plantings, it produces deeply flavoured wines with red fruit, smoky aromas and robust tannins. Once used mainly in sweet blends, it is now also valued for distinctive dry reds.
Mandilaria, also known as Mandilari, is a red grape of Crete and the Aegean islands. It brings deep colour, ripe fruit character and pronounced tannins. Often blended with softer varieties, it can also make distinctive single-variety reds and rosés.
Athiri is a white grape of the Aegean islands, adapted to warm, dry conditions. It generally offers delicate citrus and white or yellow fruit aromas, a medium body and softer acidity. In blends it can contribute a gentler, rounded element.
