Description
This clone of Muscat is a small-grape treasure. The colour is golden green. On the nose intense fresh aromas of flowers, such as jasmine, hyacinth, rose, freesia, gardenia and primrose. Rich, elegant, with a creamy texture and balanced acidity in the mouth. The subtle sweetness tickles the palate adding volume to floral aromas with a long aftertaste.

Muscat of Spinas is a Cretan clone of Muscat Blanc à Petits Grains named after the village of Spina, where old, high-altitude bush vines were rescued from near-extinction. It shows the intense floral and citrus aromatics typical of the wider Muscat family, though mountain-grown examples can be more mineral and structured than the sweeter, more overtly perfumed Muscats found elsewhere.
Producer
Dourakis winery is located in the mountain village of Alikambos, in Chania. The small family vines are scattered in the wider region on sloping and rocky ground, between the Cretan Sea and the slopes of Leyka Ori. The primary goal of the winery is the creation of high quality wines, with respect to the island's tradition, integrating the uniqueness of Cretan varieties and the organic cultivation of the vineyards.
