Made from 100% Sideritis, a rare, pink-skinned grape indigenous to the mountainous Aigialeia region of the Peloponnese. Pale in colour with a delicate rosy tint, it offers citrus and stone-fruit aromas with a crisp, mineral-driven palate — a distinctive expression of one of Greece's lesser-known indigenous whites.

Sideritis
Sideritis is a pink-skinned Greek variety, which is grown mainly in northwest Peloponnese and sporadically in Attica and Evia. Its name is derived from the Greek word ‘sidero’ (iron), referring to the toughness of the skins. It is a vigorous and productive vine, producing large berries and large bunches. It is a late ripening variety, sensitive to diseases and relatively resistant to drought.

Acheon Winery is a small, family-owned estate in Aigialeia, in the mountainous Slopes of Aigialeia region of the Peloponnese, tracing its roots back to 1946. Today it is run by sisters Sosanna and Katerina Katsikosta, the third generation of the family, with Sosanna — trained in France and at Château Margaux and Château Latour-Martillac — as head winemaker. The estate focuses on indigenous varieties such as Roditis and Sideritis, grown from coastal Aigio up into the high-altitude vineyards of Aigialeia, and follows a minimal-intervention approach that lets the terroir and history of the region come through in the wines.
