Roditis & Refosco & Mavroudi & Asproudes
Roditis is a pink-skinned Greek grape widely used for white wines. With careful vineyard management it can produce refreshing wines with lemony aromas and a light to medium body. It also appears in blends, rosés and retsina, showing considerable versatility.
Refosco is a red grape with a long history in the western Peloponnese, introduced there from northern Italy. It has become an established part of the region’s vineyards and local wine blends.
Mavroudi takes its name from the dark colour of its berries and is used in Greek red wines and blends.
Asproudes is a collective local name used for white grapes in Greek vineyards, rather than a precise identification of one variety.
