Description
Garalis winery creates a wonderful white Retsina of gentle vinification from 100% Muscat of Alexandria. Its lemon color catches the eye. The nose is flooded with aromas of dried citrus fruits and thyme, with the pine always present and some notes of mastic and honey following. The palate has moderate plus body, with lively acidity and a lasting aftertaste. Can be enjoyed equally as an aperitif, cocktail ingredient (beautiful with fizz) or to accompany the multitude of first course dishes of the Greek cuisine.

Limnio & Muscat of Lemnos & Muscat of Alexandria
Limnio is one of the oldest named grape varieties in Greece, believed by wine historians to be the 'Lemnia' grape described by Aristotle as the source of the famous red wine of ancient Lemnos. Grown today mainly in northern Greece, particularly around Halkidiki and Thrace, it produces moderately coloured, elegant reds with fresh herbal notes, red berry fruit and silky tannins.

Winemaker Manolis Garalis is a third generation wine grower on the volcanic island Lemnos in the North Aegean sea, who established his own winery in 2006. With his family - wife and two children - he works dedicated and specialized with the two local grapes of the island, Muscat of Alexandria and Limnio. The grapes are grown certified organic in volcanic soils.
