DESCRIPTION
According to various authors, the Muscat variety of Samos is of Asian origin and is a product of mutation. It appeared in Samos at the end of the 16th century, where due to its environment it fully attributed its features. It is an identical variety to the Muscat de Frontignan cultivated in southern France and there is no doubt that the French, in the time of the phylloxera, took cuttings from Samos and planted them in France creating this variety (Muscat de Frontignan).
